The Brainiac Blog- Brain Break

hollingworths22

Welcome to my world! Here I will share mental health tips, self-care tricks, and trade secrets this therapist uses to stay afloat in an increasingly stressful world.

My name is Sarah Hollingworth.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Board recognized Supervisor in the state of Oregon; I have been in the mental health field since 2007. I started my private practice and consultancy business, Serabellum, in 2023 as a way of reconnecting with my "why". After being promoted into executive level leadership in my non-profit position, I lost the ability to carry a caseload. Don't get me wrong, I love the work I do and the staff I have the privilege of working with, but non-profit leadership is not why I became a therapist.

I became a therapist to help people. To support growth, cultivate change, and make a difference in the lives of individuals and their families.

While I am proud to say the non-profit organization I work for is making an incredible impact on the lives of many across the state of Oregon, I really missed the personal client connection I had sacrificed along the way. Serabellum has given me a vehicle to get back on my own professional journey as a provider. This process has reignited the spark of passion, vulnerability, and learning that comes along with being a helper. I hope to use this platform to share parts of my journey and good learning with you.

TLDR take aways

I plan to use this space to share mental health tips, tricks, and tidbits with you. Here are some simple mental health tips for busy adults:

  1. Schedule regular brain breaks throughout your day to recharge.

  2. Practice being fully present for a few minutes daily.

  3. Stay connected with friends and loved ones, even if it's a quick text to let them know you're thinking of them.

  4. Prioritize sleep to improve your overall mood, energy level, and focus.

Stay tuned to this space for more posts and information about upcoming events! Be kind to your mind, Brainiacs- even Serabellum Superstars need brain breaks.
